Trip Overview

Experience world-class diving in the remote Coral Sea, renowned for its dramatic walls, crystal-clear visibility, and thrilling big fish encounters.

Begin your journey with a stunning low-level scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef from Cairns to Lizard Island. From there, embark on Spoilsport and set sail for the Coral Sea, home to some of the most exhilarating dive sites in the region.

At Osprey Reef, recently declared a Shark Sanctuary, you’ll witness thrilling shark attraction dives, breathtaking sheer walls, and a vibrant mix of soft and hard corals. Enjoy encounters with large pelagic species and incredible 40-meter visibility.

Explore Bougainville Reef, a mesmerizing underwater labyrinth of caves and caverns known as Dungeons & Dragons. Dive alongside giant potato cod at Crystal Plateau and discover the untouched beauty of the Coral Sea.

Wrap up your adventure with a breathtaking 250km scenic flight from Lizard Island back to Cairns, offering unforgettable aerial views of the Great Barrier Reef.

Itinerary

Sample Itinerary (Subject to change based on conditions.)

Thursday: Boarding & Departure

• 8:30 am – 4:00 pm – Check in at our office (3 Abbott St, Cairns).
• From 4:30 pm – Meet fellow passengers (details provided at check-in). Please note: Dinner is not provided on the first night, so we recommend eating before boarding.
• 5:50 pm – Our crew will escort you to Spoilsport, where you’ll enjoy a welcome glass of champagne and light snacks while your Trip Director provides a full briefing.
• 6:30 pm – Spoilsport departs Cairns. Use this time to set up your dive gear and organize any rental equipment.

Friday: Full Day of Diving (Up to 4 dives + night dive)

This schedule represents a typical dive day, though exact times may vary depending on weather conditions.

• 6:30 am – Wake-up call, light breakfast available.
• 7:00 am – Dive briefing & first dive.
• 9:00 am – Full cooked breakfast.
• 10:30 am – Dive briefing & second dive. Open deck policy allows for 1–2 dives in the morning or afternoon.
• 2:00 pm – Lunch.
• 3:30 pm – Third dive.
• 4:30 pm – Afternoon tea.
• 6:30 pm – Night dive.
• 8:00 pm – Dinner.

Saturday: Another Full Day of Diving (Up to 4 dives + night dive)

• Follows the same schedule as Friday.

Sunday: Final Dives & Celebration (Up to 4 dives, last dive by 5:00 pm)

• Follows the same schedule as previous days.
• Sunset – Celebrate with champagne, snacks, and an Aussie BBQ party night. Wear your loudest tropical shirt and sing along with the crew.
• Spoilsport cruises overnight to Lizard Island.

Monday: Scenic Flight Back to Cairns

• 7:00 am – Light breakfast.
• 8:00 am – Disembark at Lizard Island. Our crew will walk you to the airport.
• 9:30 am – Board a scenic low-level flight over the reef back to Cairns (approx. 1-hour flight).
• 11:45 am – Arrive in Cairns and enjoy a courtesy transfer to inner-city hotels, the airport, or our office (luggage storage available until 4:00 pm for late flights).

Important Information

• A 24-hour no-fly time is recommended after your last dive (all diving concludes by 4:00 pm Sunday).
• Luggage allowance for the flight from Lizard Island to Cairns:
  • 25kg (55lb) per person + 3kg (6.5lb) carry-on.
  • Additional 10kg (22lb) permitted for professional photo/video equipment.
