Join this idyllic sailing safari exploring some of the most remote areas of the Ningaloo Reef Marine Park. The snorkelling and diving experience is world-class as you surround yourself with pristine coral reef and an abundance of fish life.  The destination is the beautiful Sandy Point and Pelican Point Sanctuary, perfect places to explore the shallow reef lagoons either by kayak, scuba diving or by donning a mask, snorkel and fins.

Enjoy walking along sparkling white beaches and viewing turtles in their natural feeding grounds.  Dugongs can also be seen on occasions grazing on seagrass beds and inquisitive Dolphins can often be seen chasing fish throughout the clear water. Between June and November, Humpback Whales are a common site on the outer reef, as they make their way north on their annual migration and return south with their calves for the summer.

The Ningaloo Escape on board “Shore Thing” is mandatory to your travelling schedule whether it be the 4 Day / 3 Night trip or the 6 Day / 5 Night as both will provide you with an unforgettable experience filled with rare opportunities to interact with Australia’s beautiful and friendly marine life!

The 4 Day / 3 Night trip visits up to 8 exclusive dive and snorkel sites and spends the nights at “Five Fingers Reef”, “Sanctuary” and “Point Maud”. The highlights of this shorter trip include:

  • fishing off the back deck, providing the opportunity for a fresh caught meal
  • snorkelling amongst reef sharks, turtles and large rays through underwater pathways surrounded by coral boulders rising right up to the surface of the water
  • leisurely kayaking along the secluded coastline of Jane’s Bay where the crew will guide you around the best sites depending on the conditions

The 6 Day / 5 Night trip includes all of the above activities, however having the extended time you will have more of an insight to the Ningaloo reef and Coral Bay as you explore up to 16 different sites! The highlights of this amazing trip include:

  • Sailing further north into Chabjuwardoo Bay where you will navigate Stanley Pool and explore the contrasting waters created by the water movements shaping the sand which forms distinct deep pools of profound blue water
  • “The Fishbowl”, “Holey Moley”, “Turtle Pond” and “Lost City” are some of the sites visited along this Northern area of the reef and are exclusive to Shore Thing on this 6 Day / 5 Night Ningaloo Escape
  • Visit the historical ruins of the Norwegian Bay whaling station and hear tragic tales of the many shipwrecks that lie on the Ningaloo Reef. Enjoy scuba diving and snorkelling on the Finn Wreck, surrounded by large schools of fish

Both of these expeditions explore the pristine Ningaloo Reef Marine Park, where there will be plenty of opportunities to view turtles, dolphins, dugongs, whales (seasonal) without even getting in the water! Then just imagine the thrill of what you may discover when you don a mask, snorkel and a pair of fins! There will be plenty of time to experience scuba diving, kayaking or to find a perfect snorkelling lagoon or that stunning secluded beach. Enjoy glorious sunsets over the Indian Ocean while indulging in a little ‘me time’.
