Kiana is a 16.4 metre Ketch sleeping to only 14 guests offering the ultimate in personal comfort and safety.  The vessel has a fully licensed bar and below decks fitted out for maximum comfort.  Enjoy the luxury of air-conditioning, large roomy saloon areas and comfortable cabins. The vessel has lots of room for gearing up to go diving deck side, snorkelling or relaxing in the sun.

Kiana is the only vessel in the Whitsundays offering you to experience both scuba diving on the Outer Great Barrier Reef and sailing around the Whitsunday Group of Islands. All diving is booked onboard but the 1st Dive is included in your trip.

Full Itinerary

Departures:

Departs: Monday and Friday at 8.00am
Returns: Wednesday and Sunday at 4:00pm

No set schedule except to show you the best the Whitsundays have to offer sailing the islands and outer reef over three days.

This trip combines both sailing and scuba diving around the Whitsunday islands. Up to 5 certified dives available.  Night dive subject to demand and weather conditions.

Important Information:

  • Customers are to make their own way to the Coral Sea Marina, Airlie Beach. No pick service is provided.
  • Directions – Shingley Dr, Airlie Beach QLD 4802
  • Please contact the office 48hours prior to your trip departure date on – 0749 402 000
  • Check in to the Whitsundays Sailing Office – (Coral Sea Marina, Airlie Beach) before 5.00pm the day prior to your trip departure date. This is to organise all your dive and snorkelling paper work. Don’t forget your Dive Card.
  • You will be asked to transfer your personal items into a small soft bag by the operator. It is recommended you pack clothing for an overnight trip, toiletries, swimmers, towel, sun tan lotion and credit card for any additional purchases.
  • We recommend you store any luggage that you do not require at ‘The Travel Shop’ located at 344 Shute Harbour Road. Cost is $10.00 for the duration of your trip. The Travel Shop reception is open from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm, seven days per week. Pre-booked baggage is not available, simply go directly to the shop.

 

FAQ

Dive in Australia honours operators individual Cancellation/Rescheduling/Refund Policies. Sailing tours are always dependent on the weather. If your trip is cancelled for any reason Dive in Australia will honour Sailing Whitsundays (Kiana) refund policy. Flexible refund policies are now in place based on the uncertainty of travel restrictions.Cancellations made within 14 days of departure for overnight boats will result in complete forfeiture of the ticket price. Cancellations made out of these time frames will be refunded in full, minus any credit card/administration fees.

We understand that booking travel can be quite nerve-wracking in these uncertain times, that is why we have installed a flexible policy when it comes to cancellations made due to a covid lock down. If a guest needs to cancel due to a covid lockdown, and they advise us as soon as the lockdown occurs, then they will be eligible for an open dated ticket of the full amount paid. Open dated ticket requests must be sent through in writing and you may be asked to show proof of address at the time. If you are unable to travel due to contracting Covid 19 or are a close contact of a person with Covid 19, you may also be eligible for an open dated ticket. A cancellation request must be sent through in writing and we will need you to send proof of your positive test result.

Please Note: some medical conditions may prevent you diving and you will be required to complete a waiver and medical statement prior to the trip. If you have recently/continue to suffer from an illness or condition that may affect your dive fitness, or currently taking any prescription medication, you will need to consult a doctor for a 'fit to dive' medical certificate. Examples include but are not limited to; diagnosed asthma, brain/ spinal cord or nervous disorder, chest surgery, chronic bronchitis or sinus condition, lung problems, current cold, cough, flu, chest infection, diabetes, ear problems, epilepsy (unless you have a certification and trained buddy for this condition), fainting or seizures, heart problems, Tuberculosis, high or low blood pressure, any non over the counter medications including those for the treatment of anxiety and depression. (Exception of oral contraception). Special COVID-19 Information: The health and wellbeing of customers and staff are paramount. If any customers present to check-in with fever, coughing, sore throat, fatigue, or shortness of breath, you may be required to undergo a COVID-19 test prior to joining your trip.

All prices are per person in AUD and include GST (excluding administration fees). While most pricing is quoted at a per passenger rate, private cabins must be booked and paid for by the full cabin price. Passengers wanting sole use of a private cabin will need to pay the full cabin price, usually for 2 persons. All prices include professional skipper and crew, live-aboard accommodation, all meals, fresh linen and use of wet suits or stinger suits and snorkelling equipment.
