Trip Overview

Embark on a breathtaking 5-night expedition through the Coral Sea and Ribbon Reefs, where exceptional visibility, vibrant marine life, and spectacular underwater landscapes await.

Start your journey in the Coral Sea, where the azure waters create a paradise for sharks and big fish, offering thrilling encounters against the backdrop of massive soft coral trees and intricate sea fans. The incredible visibility allows divers to witness the diverse marine ecosystem in its full glory.

Explore the Ribbon Reefs, one of the most biodiverse sections of the Great Barrier Reef, known for its rich variety of fish species and coral. One of the standout moments of the trip is diving with the famous potato cod at Cod Hole, where divers will be immersed in an underwater wonderland of vibrant coral gardens and abundant marine life.

This 5-night journey promises a blend of adrenaline-pumping shark dives, incredible biodiversity, and stunning coral formations, making it an unforgettable experience for all divers.

Sample Itinerary (Subject to change based on conditions)

Thursday: Boarding & Departure

• 8:30 am – 4:00 pm: Check in at our office (3 Abbott St, Cairns).
• 4:30 pm: Make your way to meet fellow passengers. Details for the boarding meeting point at 5:30 pm will be provided at check-in. Please note: Dinner is not provided on the first evening, so we recommend eating before boarding.
• 5:50 pm: Our crew will escort you onboard Spoilsport, where you’ll be greeted with a glass of champagne and light snacks while your Trip Director gives a full briefing.
• 6:00 pm: Spoilsport departs Cairns. Time to organize rental equipment and set up your dive gear on the dive deck.

Friday: Full Day of Diving (Up to 4 dives + night dive)

This is a sample schedule; exact times may vary depending on weather conditions.

• 6:30 am: Wake-up call with a light breakfast available.
• 7:00 am: Full cooked breakfast.
• 8:00 am: Dive briefing.
• 9:00 am: Diving commences.
• 10:30 am: Dive briefing & second dive. “Open decks” offer flexibility for 1–2 dives either in the morning or afternoon.
• 2:00 pm: Lunch.
• 3:30 pm: Dive briefing & third dive.
• 4:30 pm: Afternoon tea.
• 6:30 pm: Night dive briefing & dive.
• 8:00 pm: Dinner.

Saturday: Another Full Day of Diving (Up to 4 dives + night dive)

• Schedule follows the same as Friday.

Sunday: Final Dives & Celebration (Up to 4 dives + night dive)

• Schedule follows the same as previous days.
• Evening: After the last dive, enjoy champagne and snacks as we prepare for an Aussie BBQ party night. Don’t forget your loudest tropical shirt and join in for some sing-alongs with our talented crew.
• Overnight cruise to Cairns.

Monday: Final Day of Diving (Up to 4 dives, last dive by 5:00 pm)

• As per previous days, all diving finishes by 5:00 pm.
• After the dive day ends, get ready for a celebratory evening with champagne and nibbles as we cruise back to Cairns.

Tuesday: Departure

• 7:00 am: Light breakfast.
• 8:00 am: Disembark and enjoy a courtesy transfer to Cairns city hotels, the airport, or our office (luggage storage available until 4:00 pm for late flights).

Important Notes:

• We recommend allowing at least 24 hours between your last dive and your onward flight (all diving concludes by 4:00 pm on Monday).
