Australia offers several excellent dive locations for you to complete your beginner course or the furthering of your dive education. Byron Bay is a very popular location for you to start your passion for scuba diving. Start your diving on the world recognised marine Sanctuary in Julian Rocks.
A Nature Reserve, Julian Rocks, is home to a diverse range of tropical and cold water marine life. Its most notable feature is the presence of sharks, including leopard sharks, grey nurse sharks, wobbegong sharks, and more. The Julian Rocks Nature Reserve is situated approximately 2.5 kilometers northeast of Byron Bay and is comprised of two small islands and several reef areas. While coral life and growth are limited, the diversity of marine species living here is not. What contributes to the diversity of marine life at Julian Rocks is the emergence of both tropical and cold water currents.
Aside from sharks, various creatures may be observed on a Byron Bay day dive trip to Julian Rocks, including but not limited to Queensland groupers, anemonefish, bull rays, eagle rays, three species of marine turtles, manta rays, snapper, bream, and a wide variety of nudibranchs.
