Swim with Whale Sharks

About your Whale Shark Swim Tour

Each year from March to August, whale sharks—the world’s largest fish—gather off Exmouth, drawn by Ningaloo Reef’s thriving ecosystem. Their arrival begins with the annual coral spawning in March, followed by nutrient-rich upwellings that bring plankton to the surface, creating a perfect feeding ground.

Growing up to 15 meters long, these gentle giants are harmless, slow-moving, and curious, often swimming alongside snorkelers. While whale sharks visit other locations, Ningaloo offers one of the longest seasons to see them in large numbers, making it a truly unforgettable experience.

Whale shark swims are a specialty, and with a fully-qualified team, you’ll experience the Exmouth Dive & Whale Shark difference. Get ready for a fantastic day on and in the water, where your comfort and the well-being of the whale sharks are the top priority.

Light aircrafts will spend more time in the air than any other tour company along the North West Cape, ensuring you’re the first on the water. With an early bird approach, you’ll spot whale sharks and humpback whales from above, heading straight to their location before anyone else. This means no wasted time searching, so you’ll have more time swimming with these majestic giants.

There is no scuba diving on this tour, it is snorkelling only. However, this tour does offer a Whale Shark swim guarantee, which is as follows. If Whale Sharks can’t be found on the day of your visit, you are provided with a free repeat on the next available tour, which is valid for three (3) years.
