Swimming with Whale Shark is seasonable (March – September) and very accessible from Exmouth. This tour operates daily to coincide with the annual Whale Shark migration.
You day will be active with in water interaction and information about the Whaleshark sex, behaviour and feeding patterns. The crew will show you the best way how to take photos and instruct you on how to best approach and swim with the Whalesharks so that your encounter with the world’s largest fish is a truly memorable one.
Please know this trip is not a dive tour so there is no scuba diving allowed, but plenty of opportunity to be in the water, snorkeling with the Whale Sharks. It’s a small group day tour with a maximum of 20 guests on board each day. Spotter planes are used to locate the Whale Sharks.
Full day tour
There is no scuba diving on this tour, it is snorkeling only. However, Exmouth Diving Centre do offer a Whale Shark swim guarantee, which is as follows. If Whale Sharks can’t be found on the day of your visit, you are provided with a free repeat on the next available tour, which is valid for three (3) years. If you do see and swim with Whale Sharks, but it’s not a good swim (due to bad luck, severe sea sickness etc) they offer a standby repeat valid for one (1) week.
All DPaW fees included, a proportion of your ticket price goes towards Whaleshark Research.
Good ‘Whaleshark Swim’ Guarantee in the unlikely event no whale shark is sighted on your Whale Shark Adventure with us or you just didn’t get a good swim. The operator offers a free repeat tour on standby, yours to take in the next 3 years. (conditions apply).
Duration – 8 hours
The Exmouth Diving Centre Whale Shark Swim Tour departs from Exmouth at 7am and returns around 5pm. Pending the location of Whale Sharks, we anticipate you being in the water from 9am until lunch at 12pm (approx.) and then more swimming until 2pm, when the boat begins its return to Exmouth.
