Course Summary
Embark on an unforgettable underwater adventure with our PADI Open Water Course!
Your journey begins with the flexibility of e-learning, letting you dive into the basics at your own pace before the real excitement starts. Then, you’ll start your training in a heated pool to get comfortable. The final two days will be completed in the ocean, where you’ll practice essential skills and discover the wonders of the underwater world. By the end, you’ll be certified to dive anywhere in the world—up to 18 meters deep!
While the course typically takes three days, we recommend adding an extra day for a more relaxed pace and to boost your confidence as a diver. It’s all about ensuring you’re fully ready to enjoy every underwater adventure that comes your way.
Open Water Dive Course Inclusions

4 day Open Water Dive Course Inclusions
- Same inclusions as the Open Water Dive Course
- 2 additional recreational open water dives
- Free dive gear hire for the next three months on any dive trips with Gold Coast Dive Adventures
Full Itinerary
Course Structure
Day 1 – Introduction to equipment, skills and knowledge review with your instructor in a heated swimming pool.
Day 2 – Meeting at the Dive Centre at the Runaway Bay Marina to complete your first two open water dives.
Day 3 – Meeting at the Dive Centre at the Runaway Bay Marina to complete your second two open water dives and attain your complete certification.
Day 4 (optional) – This optional fourth day allows you to complete an extra two local dives with other certified divers to see what diving is like when you’re no longer on course and a glimpse of what your diving future will look like.
Courses generally begin on a Tuesday or a Saturday. Tuesday courses are 3 consecutive days, whilst the Saturday courses are generally Saturday and Sunday consecutively and then completed the following weekend. Alternative dates may be proposed.
Before you book
- Must be a minimum 10 years of age
- Must be able to swim
- Be of good physical and mental health
- No medical is required unless you are over 45 years of age or have responded YES to any questions on your medical declaration
- Courses and subsequent dives are subject to change based on weather conditions
