Solway Lass has 114 years of history being 127 Ft traditional Tallship built in Holland 1902. The vessel has full air-conditioned comfort, private cabins appointed with brass lamps, cedar and oak timbers and even your own personal reading lamp. This tall ship has sailed in the 1st world War with guns concealed in her decks, used as an ice breaker in the 2nd World War.
The Whitsunday’s largest tall ship and most authentic, which is square-rigged, giant Tarzan swing, lay in the Bow Net as we sail along.
Maximum – 30 Guests + 6 Crew
Day 1 – Check in at our office, Shop 1, 4 Airlie Esplanade Airlie Beach by 4.30pm. After check-in, guests are welcome to leave there luggage in our office, prior to the shuttle transfer to the Marina. Guests may then explore Airlie Beach, grab a bite to each, enjoy a walk along the beach. Courtesy pickups from Airlie Beach at 6.40pm for transfer to the marina. Depart the marina at 7.30pm and sail to the overnight anchorage. Light supper is served around 9.30pm.
Day 2 (B, L, D) – After Breakfast, make way to Tongue Bay for a guided bush walk to the Hill Inlet Lookout. A spectacular lookout overlooking Whitehaven Beach. Back on board Solway Lass enjoy lunch before heading around to Whitehaven Beach. Enjoy an hour on the beach before setting sail and heading north along the eastern side of Hook Island. Overnight anchor in one of the many bays on Hook Island.
Day 3 (B, L, D) – After Breakfast enjoys snorkelling and/or an optional Scuba Dive on the fringing coral reefs which extend right from the edge of the islands. Enjoy lunch, before sailing off to another anchorage for a second snorkel, swim or simply relax at the beach. This evening will be spent anchored in Blue Pearl Bay of Hayman Island or in the Langford Reef Area. Both locations offer spectacular sunset photo opportunities as the Solway Lass is silhouetted against the sunset over the water.
Day 4 (B, L) – After Breakfast enjoy snorkelling, swimming or relaxing on the beach before lunch. At around 1:00 pm set sail and sail across the Whitsunday Passage arriving back to the marina around 4.00pm with the courtesy shuttle transfer arriving back to Airlie Beach around 4.30pm.
