Join us for the ultimate South Australian shark adventure! Spend 3–4 full days diving with Great White Sharks at the famous Neptune Islands, with exceptional opportunities for underwater photography in a variety of habitats, including reef, sand, and weed banks.
Your expedition begins the first evening with briefings and travel to our first dive site — so every daylight hour is maximised for shark action.
Along the way, enjoy unforgettable encounters with playful Australian Sea Lions, a scenic tender tour around long-nosed fur seal colonies, and — when conditions allow — a unique guided walk on the Neptune Islands (exclusive to Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions).
After thrilling days in the water, unwind onboard with delicious local food and wine, a shark research presentation, stunning sunsets, and stargazing from the deck.
Adventure, wildlife, and world-class photography — all in one incredible package.
Day 1 – Welcome Aboard
Meet at the Port Lincoln Hotel or Marina Hotel at 6:00 PM for transfers. Boarding is at 6:30 PM, followed by cabin allocation, introductions, and a safety briefing.
We cruise through the scenic Thorny Passage and anchor overnight, ready for a morning dive with the playful Australian Sea Lions at Hopkins Island.
Day 2 – Sea Lions + First Shark Encounters
After an unforgettable sea lion snorkel/dive, we set course for the famous Neptune Islands Marine Park — home of the Great White Shark.
Once anchored, divers are briefed and the cages are in the water. Our goal: everyone experiences sharks in the surface cage before SCUBA-certified guests head to the ocean floor cage for a deeper perspective.
That evening: download photos, enjoy a delicious buffet dinner, take in a fascinating shark research presentation, stargaze, and swap stories from the day.
Days 3 & 4 – Full Shark Action + Wildlife
Two full days of shark diving in both surface and ocean floor cages.
Between dives, explore by tender boat to see lively long-nosed fur seals, seabirds, and — occasionally — sea lions hauled out on the Islands.
When conditions allow, join a guided walk on the Neptune Islands — a rare and special opportunity.
Relax onboard at your own pace with great food, good company, and the sights and sounds of this pristine marine wilderness.
Day 5 – Final Dives & Return
Sharpened shark-spotting skills ready — enjoy your final dives before we pack up the cages around 2:00 PM.
We then cruise back toward Port Lincoln with “wine on the bow” and a delicious local charcuterie board — often accompanied by dolphins riding the wake.
Arrival into Port Lincoln is before 8:00 PM for disembarkation and onward plans.
Note: Itinerary may vary based on weather and operational conditions to ensure the best possible wildlife experience.
