This expedition is designed for those who want to fully immerse themselves in the world of the Great White Shark. All guests can enjoy unforgettable up-close encounters from our Surface Cage — no dive experience required.
Alongside exceptional time in the water, the itinerary includes expert-led presentations, exclusive shore excursions, and fantastic opportunities for topside wildlife and nature photography, making this the ultimate Great White Shark experience for passionate ocean lovers.
Day 1 – Welcome Aboard + Sea Lions & Coastal Exploration
Make your way to the designated hotel pickup point by 1:00 PM for departure at 1:30 PM. Once onboard, settle into your cabin before formal introductions and a safety briefing.
We then cruise to beautiful Hopkins Island for an unforgettable afternoon snorkel or dive with the playful Australian Sea Lions — or simply enjoy viewing them from our tender as they perform their acrobatics. Weather permitting, we may also visit a remote, rugged shoreline within Port Lincoln National Park for a unique coastal photography opportunity.
Later, we either continue toward the Neptune Islands or anchor at a scenic location to enjoy a stunning sunset photography session followed by coaching and presentations from our expert team.
Day 2 – First Great White Encounters
Rise early with your camera in hand — sunrise at the Neptune Islands is spectacular. After a hearty breakfast, we anchor at the best location for shark activity and begin scanning for dorsal fins.
After dive briefings, the Surface Cage goes in first to ensure everyone experiences encounters with Great Whites. SCUBA-certified guests may then descend in the Ocean Floor Cage for a dramatic new perspective.
In the evening, relax over a delicious buffet meal, stargaze under incredibly clear skies, and review your images with support from our experienced photographers.
Days 3–5 – Full Shark Diving & Wildlife Photography
These days are dedicated to maximising time in the water and capturing world-class images of Great Whites. Both the Surface Cage and Ocean Floor Cage operate on rotation — with no strict time limits, ensuring fair and plentiful dive opportunities for all guests.
Between dives, enjoy tender tours to photograph long-nosed fur seals, seabirds, and — with luck — Australian Sea Lions hauled out on the rocks. When weather allows, join a guided walk on the Neptune Islands for elevated photographic angles and a closer look at this unique ecosystem.
Day 6 – Final Shark Dives & Dolphin Escort Home
By now, you’ll be a confident shark-spotter with an eye for unique features — and your images may support shark identification for the Fox Shark Research Foundation database. With group consensus, we may also add another Australian Sea Lion dive as a highlight finale.
We depart the Neptune Islands in the afternoon and arrive back into Port Lincoln by 8:00 PM for disembarkation and transfers to local hotels or restaurants.
