Outer Reef or Muiron Island Dive and Snorkel Tour

Explore the Outer Reef & Muiron Islands

Surrounded by vibrant coral gardens, rocky ledges, and fascinating dive sites, the Outer Reef and Muiron Islands lie about 20 nautical miles northeast or west of Exmouth. Keep an eye out during the 75-minute journey—you may spot ospreys, shearwaters, turtles, manta rays, dolphins, and even humpback whales during their migration.

With dive depths up to 20m and reef tops between 4–6m, these sites offer gentle currents and excellent conditions for divers and level 2 snorkelers (ages 6+). Explore swim-throughs and ledges teeming with shrimps, nudibranchs, eels, and juvenile angelfish. In mid-water, spot potato cod, rankin cod, turtles, nurse sharks, soft coral gardens, anemones, and countless reef fish. Late in the year, manta rays often visit, adding to the magic of these dives.

Important Information

This is not a snorkel-only tour—scuba divers may also be onboard. Snorkeling takes place in open ocean over coral atolls, which rise from various depths and reach 2 to 6 meters from the surface. In some locations, you may enter the water from the boat in depths of 12 meters and snorkel over to shallower areas.

Conditions can sometimes be choppy, so this tour is suitable for Level 2 snorkelers with prior experience in open water.

A medical questionnaire must be completed before joining this tour—please be in touch for details.
