Exmouth
Learn to dive in three days on Ningaloo Reef while visiting Exmouth. Learning to scuba dive on Ningaloo Reef is nothing short of spectacular. Home of the Whale Sharks, Manta Rays and Ningaloo Reef in Australia. Your experience will be an unparalleled underwater adventure which means that not only will you gain the skills that you need to dive safely and enjoyably, but you will get to visit some spectacular dive sites and see amazing sea creatures from your very first ocean training dive.
Please note 2 people are required to run this course, so bring a friend or let us know your preferred dates and we will try to find a buddy for you.
It is also advisable to have a couple of days spare in the event the boat trips can’t run on your scheduled days due to poor weather conditions.
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
• Knowledge Development (online, independent study or in a classroom) to learn basic principles of scuba diving
• Confined (pool) Dives to learn basic scuba skills
• Four accompanied Open Water Dives onboard our boat, to practice your skills and explore!

Diving Details
All training dives are completed on Ningaloo Reef and the surrounding Muiron Islands. Once completed and now certified scuba diver you will have the option to participate in more dives while staying in Exmouth. One must do dive is the Navy Pier. Let us know if you have the time and are interested in doing more diving while in Exmouth.
Dive Medical Statement – Some medical conditions may prevent you from participating in scuba diving activities. We will send you a dive medical statement prior to booking. If you answer a positive response to any questions you maybe required to complete a dive medical stating your are medically fit to scuba dive.
Everyone undertaking training for an entry level recreational diving certificate must be at least 12 years of age. If the diver is under 18, parental or guardian consent should be obtained for the diver to undertake training for an entry-level recreational diving certificate.
Dive Medical (if applicable)
Some medical conditions may prevent you from participating in scuba diving activities. We will provide you at the time of your enquiry or booking a PADI medical questionnaire to determine if a dive medical is required. If you answer yes to any of the questions you must see a Doctor for a diving medical certificate done to Australian Standard 4005.1 stating that you are fit to dive prior to starting your course for your own safety.
If you don’t have time to obtain a dive medical before you arrive in Australia there is a medical centre right in the heart of Perth city – across from the bus port. Traveler’s Medical Centre, 1 Mill St. Phone 08 9321 1977. Just ring and make an appointment. Medicals are not currently reliably available in Exmouth so you must get your medical completed to the correct standard before you arrive. Refunds are not available if you are unable to obtain a medical.
During the two day course you will head out to Ningaloo Reef onboard a spacious dive vessel to complete your required five speciality dives. You will complete two required dives, deep diving and underwater navigation, then three specialty dives consisting of either Underwater Naturalist, Fish Identification, Boat or Peak Performance Buoyancy.
By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge to explore deeper waters, diving up to 30 metres at home or abroad and continue to be an ambassador for the underwater world.
Day 1

The day will start with meeting with your experienced dive instructor on the vessel to run through the specialties we aim to complete today, which include:

All required diving equipment will be provided and our experienced team will assist you to ensure the right fit for your comfort and safety.

Day 2

You will start day 2 with meeting with your experienced dive instructor on the vessel to run through the specialties we aim to complete today, which include:
Deep Diving
Underwater Navigation
Boat Diving

We will be using the online PADI logbook to log your dives and training, so it is advised to download the PADI app to assist you in completing this process. The PADI app is available for Android™ and Apple® iOS devices.
Once certified you can dive up to 30 metres anywhere in the world with a partner (without professional supervision), get air fills or rent scuba tanks, rent scuba gear, book dive excursions with dive boats and resorts, and call yourself a PADI-certified Advanced Open Water diver.

If you haven’t spent a lot of time on boats, it can be a good idea to take a sea sickness tablet on the morning before heading out on the dive vessel. These must be purchased prior to the day of your course.
