Tusa Reef Tours makes experiencing the Great Barrier Reef easy. Board our safe, stable vessel, relax during your cruise to the Outer Reef, and enjoy up to 2 hours on the Great Barrier Reef, with plenty of time to snorkel and explore. Then return refreshed and ready for the rest of your day in Cairns.

Our half-day snorkel experience is designed for travellers who want to experience the magic of the Great Barrier Reef without committing to a full-day tour. Enjoy the vibrant coral gardens of Saxon and Hastings reefs, colourful fish, and crystal-clear waters, all in a safe and relaxed setting.

Introductory Diving Details

Important information when booking this trip:

  • Trips are restricted exclusively to ages 12 and over
  • 7.30 am – Check-in at C Finger, Cairns Marina
  • Scheduled departures – Wednesday to Sunday

Tusa offers introductory as well as certified scuba diving. There’s no experience needed for the introductory dives and all briefings, training, equipment and guides are included in the price. The dives can be unguided with a buddy, or guided at an additional $10 per person, per dive. All divers will enjoy the amazing dive service, which includes the dive crew defogging your mask for you and putting on and taking off your fins, on the dive deck.

Full Itinerary

8.40 am – Check-in at A Finger, Cairns Marina.

9.00 am – Set sail to the Outer Reef, during which you’ll be given a full briefing by our experienced crew on the activities and options for the day.

10.30 am – Once we arrive at the Outer Reef, the real adventure begins! Join our guided snorkelling session and enjoy up to two hours snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef.

12.30 pm – If prebooked, you’ll then receive your delicious picnic lunch box, which you can enjoy in the main deck area, or take advantage of one of the many open deck areas and enjoy your meal al fresco as we return to Cairns.

2.00 pm – Back to the Cairns Marina, it’s time to say goodbye to the beautiful Reef with memories that will last a lifetime!
