Day 1 – Sailing & Whitehaven Beach
Step aboard Waltzing Matilda and set sail through the turquoise waters of the Whitsundays. Enjoy the thrill of traditional sailing as you make your way to the world-famous Whitehaven Beach. Stroll along its 7 km stretch of soft silica sand, swim in the clear shallows, or simply relax on the shoreline. From there, take a short bushwalk to the spectacular Hill Inlet Lookout, where swirling sands and blue waters create one of the most iconic views in Australia. In the evening, unwind on deck with your fellow travellers, watch the sunset, and enjoy a cosy night aboard under the stars.
Day 2 – Snorkelling & Island Exploring
Wake to the sounds of the sea and a new day of adventure. After breakfast, your crew will guide you to some of the best snorkelling reefs in the Whitsundays. Dive into vibrant coral gardens teeming with tropical fish, colourful corals, and maybe even a sea turtle or two. Between stops, relax on deck as Waltzing Matilda sails you through stunning island scenery. Return to Airlie Beach in the late afternoon with unforgettable memories of your Whitsundays escape.
The minimum age for passengers travelling on Waltzing Matilda is 7 years old
All passengers are required to meet outside La Marina near the Port of Airlie at 8am
The passenger capacity is 15 people
For this overnight tour, it’s recommended to bring swimwear, suncream, sunglasses, a camera, a reusable water bottle, a chance of clothes, toiletries and a sense of adventure!
Yes- snorkelling equipment including mask and snorkel are available for use while on Waltzing Matilda
Waltzing Matilda visits Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet and at least one of the finest fringing reefs of the islands. The skipper will decide the route and itinerary before each departure taking into consideration the sailing conditions
