How long can you stay?
After your paid guest stay, you will start as a Volunteer at approximately 2:00pm the next day.
If you show good work ethic and can work cohesively with our crew and arriving guests, there is a chance to extend your volunteer stay once onboard (subject to availability and crew discretion).
This is a volunteer experience, not a paid position. As a volunteer, you’ll receive complimentary:
*Guided dives can be arranged onboard for $15 per person, per dive.
We understand that you are on holidays; however, as a Volunteer you will be expected to work. Typical duties include:
You also need to purchase a Volunteer t-shirt ($35) to wear when performing onboard duties. This helps identify you as a non-guest and is a great memento of your time on the Great Barrier Reef!
Absolutely! As long as you complete all tasks requested of you. There will be some aspects of your day that will be busier, and you will be required to work a little harder than at other times. Work hard ~ Play hard. (The Great Barrier Reef is your backyard!!!)
If you are interested in the Volunteer Program, please give us a quick call or email prior to making your booking on Reef Encounter Liveaboard Trips to confirm that there is space available on our Volunteer roster.
The Volunteer Program is valid for 1 year, from the first day booked as a guest and joined as a volunteer. It is subject to availability and the onboard crew’s discretion as to whether volunteers are welcomed back.
If you have any further questions about the Volunteer program, please do not hesitate to contact us.
