Short on time but still want to experience the magic of the Whitsundays? The 2-day, 2-night liveaboard aboard Summer Jo is the perfect way to explore the region’s stunning inner reefs and islands. This adventure-packed trip offers a mix of scuba diving, snorkelling, island exploration, and onboard relaxation, giving you a taste of paradise in just two unforgettable days.

Ideal for certified divers, snorkellers, and adventure-seekers, this trip takes you to some of the best dive and snorkel sites around Hook Island, Border Island, and Whitehaven Beach, where you’ll experience vibrant coral gardens, diverse marine life, and breathtaking island landscapes.

For those looking to advance their diving skills, the SSI Advanced Open Water Course is available on this trip, allowing certified divers to complete specialty dives and enhance their underwater expertise.

With small groups, expert guides, and flexible itineraries, Summer Jo offers a premium liveaboard experience, ensuring you make the most of your time in the Whitsundays.

Sample Itinerary (Subject to Weather & Sea Conditions)

Day 1: Departure & Hook Island

• 4:00 PM: Set sail from Port of Airlie, cruising northeast through the stunning Whitsundays. Take in the breathtaking views as we make our way toward Hook Island.

• If you’ve completed e-learning beforehand, your instructor will review materials and answer any questions.

• 7:00 PM: Arrive and anchor in a sheltered bay at Hook Island.
• Gourmet dinner served onboard—enjoy a delicious meal under the stars and get to know your fellow adventurers.

Day 2: Dive, Snorkel & Explore

• 5:30 AM: Wake up to a sunrise cruise along Hook Island’s rugged coastline, heading towards Butterfly Bay or Luncheon Bay—both home to spectacular coral gardens and diverse marine life.
• 6:00–9:00 AM: Enjoy a hearty breakfast as you prepare for an action-packed day.
• 6:30–9:00 AM: First dives of the day!

• Advanced Open Water students: Dive 1

• 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM: More underwater adventures!

• Certified divers: Dive 2 & 3
• Advanced Open Water students: Dive 2
• Snorkelers: Explore the vibrant reefs
• Introductory Discover Scuba divers: Take your first breaths underwater!

• 10:00 AM: Morning tea prepared by our onboard chef.
• 12:00 PM: Depart Hook Island while enjoying a freshly prepared lunch, heading to the picturesque Border Island.
• 2:00 PM: Time to explore Border Island!

• Snorkel the coral-rich waters.
• Certified divers: Dive 4 & 5.
• Discover Scuba divers: More introductory sessions.
• Guided bushwalk to a breathtaking panoramic lookout.
• Relax on the beach, try stand-up paddleboarding, or join in fun beach games.

• 5:00 PM: Return to Summer Jo for a delicious dinner as the sun sets over the horizon.
• 5:30 PM: Night dive!

• Certified divers: Dive 6.
• Advanced Open Water students: Dive 3. Experience the reef’s nocturnal magic!

• 7:00 PM: Dessert is served! Unwind with a drink in hand, swapping stories under the starlit sky.

Day 3: Whitehaven Beach & Return to Airlie Beach

• 5:00 AM: Set sail for Tongue Bay, Whitsunday Island, arriving just in time for sunrise.
• 7:00 AM: Disembark for a guided walk to Hill Inlet Lookout, one of the most photographed locations in Australia. Witness the iconic swirling sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters from above.
• Afterward, enjoy free time at Whitehaven Beach, famous for its pure white silica sand—perfect for a refreshing swim or a barefoot stroll.

• 10:00 AM: Return to the vessel and relax on deck as we begin our scenic journey back to port.
• 2:00 PM: Arrive back at Port of Airlie, where you’ll bid farewell to the crew and your new dive buddies—taking home unforgettable memories from an incredible Whitsundays adventure.
