Sample Itinerary (Subject to Weather & Sea Conditions)

Day 1: Welcome Aboard – Set Sail for Adventure

Meet us at the marina, where our friendly crew will warmly welcome you aboard SV Summer Jo. After a comprehensive safety briefing and trip overview by your experienced Cruise Director, you’ll get to know your fellow adventurers and set up your dive gear. We’ll kick things off with an exciting first dive at either the vibrant coral gardens of Black Island or the scenic Blue Pearl Bay. As the sun sets, prepare for the thrill of your first night dive—an unforgettable glimpse into the reef’s nocturnal world. We’ll anchor in a tranquil bay for a peaceful night under the stars.

Day 2: Sunrise and Spectacle at Bait Reef

Wake up to a breathtaking sunrise over the outer Great Barrier Reef. Today, we explore the stunning dive sites of Bait Reef, including Manta Ray, Drop Off, Wally’s Walk, Seaflight Bommie, and the iconic Stepping Stones. Spend the day immersed in colourful marine life, dramatic coral structures, and crystal-clear waters. As night falls, join another enchanting night dive to experience the reef’s transformation after dark.

Day 3: Walls and Wonders at Hardy & Sinker Reef

Dive into the spectacular Hardy Reef, known for its towering 70-metre reef wall, vibrant hard and soft corals, and an abundance of marine life—from reef fish to macro critters. Then, venture to Sinker Reef for more exhilarating underwater exploration. Each site offers a new dimension of the reef’s beauty and biodiversity.

Days 4–5: Discover Remote Reefs – Knuckle & Black Reef

The adventure continues at two of the region’s best-kept secrets—Knuckle Reef and Black Reef. These remote and untouched locations boast dramatic underwater topography, rich marine ecosystems, and a sense of true discovery. With multiple dives across both days, you’ll uncover hidden gems and create memories to last a lifetime.

Day 6: Farewell and Return Journey

As we make our way back to shore, take time to reflect on the incredible experiences and friendships forged throughout your journey. Pack up your gear, swap stories with fellow guests, and soak in the final views of the open ocean. You’ve just completed an unforgettable expedition to the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.
