From March to June, you can join for an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience as you go swimming alongside the biggest fish in the sea—the majestic whale shark.

Explore the crystal-clear waters of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef, home to an incredible array of marine life. With expert guides, a dedicated spotter plane, and a passion for conservation, you’ll be given the best chance to witness these gentle giants in their natural habitat.

Itinerary

7:30 AM – Check-in & Departure

Meet at the Coral Bay Ecotours office for check-in.
Short bus transfer to the jetty to board our vessel.

Morning Reef Snorkel

First snorkel stop at the coral gardens.
Encounter a variety of marine life, including fish, reef sharks, and other reef species.

Spotter Plane Search & Whale Shark Swim

Enjoy morning tea as we head to the outer reef.
A spotter plane searches for whale sharks and other exciting marine life.
Once located, guests are split into two groups of 10 to take turns swimming with a whale shark.
Up to one hour of total swimming time to ensure minimal disturbance to the whale shark’s natural behaviour.

Second Reef Snorkel

Another snorkel stop at a different site on the way back.

Tour Finale

Celebrate the day with a glass of champagne and a fresh fruit platter.

A basic swimming ability is required to join this tour as an interaction swimmer, and it is recommended for experienced swimmers. For child and infant policies, please refer to the Terms & Conditions below.

Children are defined as those aged 6 to 16 years old, while passengers aged 17 and above are considered adults. Family prices apply to two adults and two children between the ages of 6 and 16. Children aged 5 and under are free of charge, except when swimming with whale sharks, manta rays, or humpback whales, in which case child rates apply.

All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times, who is fully responsible for their care. Children must not be left unattended on the boat or in the water at any time.
