Sail Ningaloo operates on the Ningaloo Reef from Coral Bay – Late February to October, inclusive.

Wanting more than this 5 nights and 6 days exploring some of the more remote reef locations Ningaloo Reef has to offer. The extra time allows you to explore some of the most magical and varied coral outcrops to be found on the Ningaloo Reef, sailing over 70km between Coral Bay & Norwegian Bay where no other tour accesses. On what can only be described as a marine safari!

Sail Ningaloo’s vessel ‘Shore Thing’ is a purpose built, 51ft liveaboard sailing catamaran with four beautifully appointed private cabins, with a large central saloon area, a fully shaded entertaining deck, elevated fly bridge with 360° views and an expansive
front deck with double trampoline nets for relaxing.
The cabin setup onboard is suited to couples. (If you are travelling alone then you will need to book the cabin completely for sole use).
Being a catamaran Shore Thing is extremely comfortable and stable, both at sea and at anchor. With a shallow draft Shore Thing is an ideal vessel for accessing the many spectacular shallow inner reef lagoons and assures easy inner reef access for
calm anchorage in all weather conditions.

Accommodation on board is orientated toward small numbers (maximum of 8-10, depending on configurations)
2 x Stateroom King cabins with full ensuite (Stateroom cabin configurations are flexible – King, twin or double bed with additional single bunk)
2 Deluxe double bed cabins with private facilities located just outside each cabin.
All cabins feature air-conditioning, fan, reading lights and power points.
The destination is the beautiful Sandy Point and Pelican Point Sanctuary, perfect places to explore the shallow reef lagoons either by kayak, scuba diving or by donning a mask, snorkel and fins.
Enjoy walking along sparkling white beaches and viewing turtles in their natural feeding grounds. Dugongs can also be seen on occasions grazing on seagrass beds and inquisitive Dolphins can often be seen chasing fish throughout the clear water. Between June and November, Humpback Whales are a common sight on the outer reef, as they make their way north on their annual migration and return south with their calves for the summer.

You will experience spectacular dense coral formations that surround Coral Bay. Your adventure will see you sailing along Batemans Bay, home to a population of majestic Manta Rays. Visit Point Cloates, where there are numerous turtles swimming and feeding in the shallow waters. We may get to step foot on Fraser Island, the Ningaloo Reef’s only sand island visible only at low tide!
All expeditions explore the pristine Ningaloo Reef Marine Park, where there will be plenty of opportunities to view turtles, dolphins, dugongs, whales (seasonal) without even getting in the water! Then just imagine the thrill of what you may discover when you don a mask, snorkel and a pair of fins! There will be plenty of time to experience scuba diving, kayaking or to find a perfect snorkelling lagoon or that stunning secluded beach. Enjoy glorious sunsets over the Indian Ocean while indulging in a little me time.

Pre/post accommodation, additional day tours, scenic flights and airport transfers are not included in the tour price, however we are happy to assist you by tailor-making a unique Ningaloo holiday itinerary that ticks all your boxes.
At certain times of the year, especially during West Australian school holidays, Coral Bay and Exmouth accommodation can be fully booked so we recommend to secure your pre/post accommodation as far in advance as possible.
Snorkelling in the protected reef lagoons – scuba diving and kayaking peaceful
lagoons or to a secluded beach – observing marine life in their natural environment, photographing the beautiful natural surrounds including underwater photography, star gazing – beach combing or just plain relaxing – surrounded by the pristine beauty of the Ningaloo Reef Marine Park.
All activities focus on the reef, natural environment, cultural and historical aspects of the area, specialising in guided interpretive activities.
